2016 YMCA Track & Field Middle School Invitational: Halladay 4:46.47

Kamiah Middle School's Alfredo Gonzalez competes in theYMCA Track & Field Middle School Invitational long jump on May 28, 2016 at Mountain View High School, Meridian, Idaho. Gonzalez finished seventh with a jump or 16-06.75.
Start of the sixth grade 1600 (L to R: Mikella Tobin, Kayleigh Maloney, Saije Camp, Alexia Corona) at the YMCA Track & Field Middle School Invitational. Tobin finished first (5:45.85), followed by Maloney (5:52.62) and Corona (5:57.10).
Rigby's Camryn Williams and Victory Charter's Amanda Lee at the finish of the sprint medley relay (100-100-200-400m). Victory Charter finished first (2:06.40), followed by Rigby (2:06.47), Sage Valley (2:08.89), and Rockland (2:13.74).

The 2016 version of the YMCA Track & Field Middle School Invitation was a little more special with a national level record run by Lake Hazel Middle School's (Meridian) Lexy Halladay. Her 1600 meter winning time of 4:46.47 is the fastest time in the nation this year for an eighth grader. This time would rank her as the 15th fastest in the nation this year for high school girls.

Lexy Halladay finishes lap three as Sara Christianson cheers her on. Sara helped pace Lexy through the first 1100 meters. These two are Idaho's two fastest distance prep girls with Lexy's 1600 (4:46.47) and Sara's Idaho State Meet record times in the 1600 (4:53.86) and 3200 (10:36.00) which she set in May 2016 during the Idaho State Track & Field Championships.
Lexy Halladay starts lap four.

Two views of the finish. I used a remote camera on the wide angle view. I like the celebrating person on top of the press box.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look. -Gregg
